Employment in STEM fields has grown almost 80 percent since 1990 – from 9.7 million to 17.3 million, according to a new analysis by Pew Research Center. Workers in science, technology, engineering and math fields tend to earn more than non-STEM workers with similar levels of education, further underscoring the need to address the shortage of STEM-related skills in the American workforce, which is the focus of the 2018 U.S. News' STEM Solutions conference, held April 4-6 in Washington. This Workforce of Tomorrow event will bring together companies, educators, policymakers and other leaders to create a collective that will fill jobs now and advance the future STEM workforce.
