These states have some of the highest household incomes and lowest poverty and food-insecurity rates.

Median household income nationally reached $68,703 in 2019, according to the U.S. Census Bureau – the highest it has ever recorded.
But household income varies within and among states. In Mississippi, the median income is $45,792, while in Maryland, it reaches nearly $87,000.
