Web Analyst
Seeking a full-time Web Analyst to begin immediately.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee tracking, measurement, analysis, and reporting of all web site traffic and visitor behavior
• Manage and administer Omniture web analytics tool -- manage user accounts and provide in-house training
• Measure & analyze audience referral sources, impact of marketing, pr, and media campaigns on traffic, web site visitor behavior, and identify trends for ongoing study
• Maintain effective methodology and internal process for conversion tracking across all marketing, partner, and search engine marketing/optimization technologies
• Work closely with offline media departments to provide actionable daily and weekly analysis, as appropriate, as well as monthly summaries and quarterly reporting to senior management
• Field analytics requests from all functional areas of the organization, including generating regular and custom site performance reporting to meet contractual requirements and business goals
Desired Skills:
• One or more years online marketing/marketing research, with experience and ability to analyze web analytics to understand site performance. Familiarity with online metrics and web terminology highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written); ability to provide concise clear reporting and analysis, strong interpersonal and team skills
• Ability to complete analysis and deliver results in a timely manner
• Proven problem solving skills
• Ability to work cross-divisionally in a matrixed environment
• Ability to formulate quantitative approaches to address business questions
• Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Team Player
Education:
• BA or BS in a quantitative area (mathematics, statistics, computer science) a plus, but not required.

Front-End Web Developer (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
U.S. News & World Report has an immediate opening for a front-end web developer with strong skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This position requires expert-level knowledge of WC3 standards, cross-browser development, accessibility, and a solid understanding of the principles of information architecture and search engine optimization. Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines are also required.
Duties include
• working with editors, web producers, graphic artists, and programmers to create innovative online features and interactive tools
• creating web-based content from conceptual page plans in Photoshop
• crafting flexible templates for custom Zope/Python content management system
• integrating and troubleshooting code from third-party content and E-commerce partners
Applicants will be required to provide code demonstrating a clear separation of content, presentation and behavior, and an unobtrusive use of JavaScript.
Occasional night and weekend work required.

MANAGER, Business Development; News, Politics, and Opinion
U.S. News & World Report is seeking a Manager of Business Development for its news/politics/opinion channel. This position is based in Washington, D.C. Responsibilities: Playing an integral role in the shaping and developing of a business strategy for U.S. News Weekly digital magazine, the news/politics/opinion channel of USNews.com, and digital newsletters, including identifying new sources of revenue and audience; working with advertising sales and marketing staff to develop sponsorship and advertising opportunities; promoting, pitching, and marketing news, politics, and opinion content; seeking, negotiating, and executing strategic sponsorships and partnerships with key portals, websites, and other potential partners; and developing and implementing new content distribution channels.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
• College graduate with at least 5 years of business development or sales and marketing experience in an online media company or news website.
• Proven success in packaging content and leveraging distribution relationships.
• Well-versed in SEO, web metrics, existing and emerging technologies, and content distribution tools.
