Hearing skills of the blind

Although it sounds like an urban legend, the popular belief that the blind hear better than the sighted turns out to be true. Canadian researchers have found that blind subjects were able to more accurately determine changes in pitch. The study's subjects listened to a pair of tones and had to decide whether the second tone was higher or lower than the first.
