USNews.com Audience Reaches Record High in August 2008

Posted 9/9/08

Washington D.C. -- U.S. News Media Group, one of the nation’s leading sources of service journalism and news, today announced record-breaking web traffic for the month of August 2008.

USNews.com received 47.8 million page views and 6.8 million unique users in August 2008, the greatest number of monthly unique users to date. Compared to July 2008, the website’s page views increased by 53% and unique visitors increased by 29%.

In addition, compared to August 2007, USNews.com page views have risen 50% and unique visitors have increased by 103% (based on August 2008 figures).

The increase in web traffic is largely attributed to the publisher’s digital transformation, site upgrades and successful launch of the America’s Best Colleges package, which included a redesign of the College portal on USNews.com, as well as an extensive distribution strategy with portals, education websites, and other online outlets.

"As we continue to execute on our digital migration strategy, we are certainly encouraged by the significant growth of our web audience for USNews.com," said Bill Holiber, president of U.S. News Media Group. "Providing consumers with valuable information, USNews.com has been successful in attracting viewers and keeping them for multiple clicks, enabling us to deliver enormous value to our partner advertisers."
