Background: Katy Marquardt, who joined U.S.News & World Report in November 2007, covers business, investing, and personal finance for the Money & Business section and also writes the New Money personal financial blog, which aims to help novice investors in their 20s and 30s cut through the jargon-filled world of finance. Prior to her promotion to senior editor in January 2009, Katy was an associate editor in the business section.
