Close House Race in N.H.; Republican Predicts 'Wipeout'

Posted at 9:39 PM ET by Kent Allen

In New Hampshire, the Manchester Union-Leader reports: "Seacoast state Sen. Martha Fuller Clark said she believes [Democrat] Carol Shea-Porter will upset Republican U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley due to strong results on the Seacoast and in Manchester. Fuller Clark's GOP opponent, Dan Hughes, said early returns show that 'angry Republicans and angry Democrats' have pushed results against his party. 'It's probably a massive statewide wipeout,' Hughes told staff reporter Riley Yates." Bradley serves District 1 and was thought to be the lesser-threatened of the state's two GOP House members. Rep. Charlie Bass of District 2 is also in a close race.

The staff of U.S. News & World Report are live in Washington watching the results roll in.
