Bush Leads Kerry In Five Battleground States Won By Gore In 2000
An MSNBC/Knight Ridder poll of 624 likely voters in seven battleground states, conducted over September 13-15 (+/- 4%), shows President Bush leads John Kerry in five of the swing states Al Gore won in 2000. According to the surveys:
In Iowa, 48% would vote for George W. Bush; 42% would vote for John Kerry.
In Minnesota, 48% would vote for Bush; 44% would vote for Kerry.
In New Mexico, 47% would vote for Bush; 43% would vote for Kerry.
In Oregon, 47% would vote for Bush; 43% would vote for Kerry.
In Wisconsin, 46% would vote for Bush; 44% would vote for Kerry.
In Pennsylvania, 45% would vote for Kerry; 44% would vote for Bush.
In Michigan, 47% would vote for Kerry; 41% would vote for Bush.
Bush Also Leads Kerry By Six Points In USA/CNN/Gallup Iowa Poll.
A USA Today/CNN/Gallup poll of 631 likely Iowa voters (+/- 4%), conducted over September 16-19, shows 50% would vote for George W. Bush and Dick Cheney; 44% would vote for John Kerry and John Edwards; 2% would vote for Ralph Nader and Peter Camejo; 4% had no opinion.
Kerry Leads Bush By Four Points In Second Michigan Poll.
An Epic-MRA poll of 610 likely Michigan voters, conducted over September 15-19 (+/- 4%), shows 48% would vote for John Kerry and John Edwards; 44% would vote for George W. Bush and Dick Cheney; 2% would vote for Ralph Nader and Peter Camejo; 6% were unsure. In Epic-MRA's August poll, Kerry lead Bush by seven points, 49%-42%.
Bush, Kerry Tied In Maryland Poll.
A SurveyUSA automated poll of 598 likely Maryland voters (+/-4.1%) taken 9/17-9/19 for WMAR-TV Baltimore has George Bush and John Kerry tied at 48% with 4% undecided or backing someone else.
Bush, Kerry Tied In New Jersey Among Likely Voters.
A Quinnipiac University Poll of 943 registered New Jersey voters (+/-3.2%), including a sub-sample of 672 likely voters (+/-3.8%), taken 9/16-9/19 shows George Bush and John Kerry tied at 48% among likely voters. Among registered voters, Kerry leads 47%-43%. A similar survey released August 25 had Kerry leading Bush 49%-39% with Ralph Nader at 4% among registered voters.
Bush Up By 16 In Tennessee.
A Mason-Dixon poll of 625 registered Tennessee voters (+/-4%) taken 9/11-9/14 shows George Bush leading John Kerry 53%-37% with 1% backing Ralph Nader and 9% undecided.
Bush Leads Kerry By 15 Points In Three Way Race In Kentucky.
A Louisville Courier-Journal poll of 657 likely Kentucky voters, conducted over September 10-15 (+/- 3.8%), shows 53% would vote for George W. Bush and Dick Cheney; 38% would vote for John Kerry and John Edwards; 3% would vote for Ralph Nader and Peter Camejo; 6% were undecided.
Bush Leads Kerry By Three Points Nationally In Three-Way Zogby Poll.
A Zogby International poll of 1066 likely voters (+/-3.1%), conducted over September 17-19, shows 46% said they would vote for George Bush; 43% said John Kerry; 1.4% said Ralph Nader; 1.2% said Michael Badnarik (L); 0.1% said Michael Peroutka (C); 0.9% said someone else; 9% were undecided.
