Jay Leno was the only late night comic not in reruns last night, and he focused on CBS' National Guard documents, John Kerry's image, and President Bush's reliance on Vice President Cheney.
Jay Leno:
"Did you hear 60 Minutes has a new policy? From now on, they've got to spend at least 60 minutes verifying their stories."
Jay Leno:
"If there's one thing you don't want to see, it's a President who didn't really win the election being brought down by phony documents."
Jay Leno:
"Today, John Kerry unveiled his new campaign slogan: 'A mind is a terrible thing to make up.'"
Jay Leno:
"Kerry just can't seem to shake this rich guy image, you know? Like today, he challenged President Bush to three debates and a yacht race."
Jay Leno:
"The candidates are arguing about the exact format these presidential debates will take. Kerry want to stand behind the podium. Bush wants to stand behind Dick Cheney."
Jay Leno:
"Today John Kerry criticized Bush for not fighting to renew the ban. You can understand why Bush doesn't want to renew the ban on assault weapons. These are the first weapons of mass destruction he's actually been able to find."
Jay Leno:
"On Friday, former President Bill Clinton went home from the hospital. . . . He left the hospital on Friday, and didn't get home until this morning."
