Edwards Heads Back To Lawrence, Kansas, To Make Up For Inadvertent Snub

Reuters reports vice presidential nominee John Edwards traveled to Lawrence, KS, yesterday "to offer an apology for an inadvertent snub by presidential hopeful John Kerry and himself. The two rolled through the town shortly past midnight on Saturday on their campaign train without saying hello or goodbye to an unexpected crowd of more than 1,500 supporters lined up beside the tracks to see them. To make amends, the campaign juggled its schedule so Edwards could return to Lawrence on Sunday while Kerry resumes the train trip through New Mexico on to Arizona." In Lawrence according to the AP, Edwards "gave his usual stump speech, touching on recurring themes of improving health care for Americans, raising the minimum wage and restoring the U.S. reputation among allies by asking for help in Iraq."
