White House Reveals Views on Democratic Convention

Here is this morning's quickie assessment of the Democratic convention from Bush insiders: The president's advisers argue that the best speech of the convention was given by Bill Clinton. John Edwards played into an attack line that the Republicans will use in the coming weeks, that he is "more lawyer than leader." John Kerry will be portrayed as a hypocrite through his claims to be elevating the political dialog while actually attacking Bush. In addition, a senior Bush-Cheney adviser told U.S.News and the Bulleting this morning, "The unanswered questions are the same as they were before the Democratoc convention. How would John Kerry wage the war on terror differntly than President Bush? And would Kerry have gone to war in Iraq if he had been president?" –Kenneth T. Walsh, U.S.News
