The Latest From Late Night Comedians
On NBC, Jay Leno joked last night, "John Kerry decided on the new party slogan of the Democratic Party, 'Love it or shove it.' "Added Leno, "John Kerry threw out the first ball before last night's Yankee-Red Sox game in Boston. You probably saw that. In fact, Kerry asked, 'Where do you want me on the field? I can take any position.'" On CBS, David Letterman also used the Heinz Kerry comments as fodder for his political humor, saying, "Teresa Heinz Kerry, John Kerry's wife, did you hear about this? She had kind of an altercation with some people from a newspaper and she told them to go shove it. I mean, who does she think she is, Dick Cheney?" Added Letterman, "Today was like the first day of the big Democratic National Convention there in Boston, and while the Democrats are holding their convention, the Republicans are down in Florida tinkering with the voting machines."
