"I went to sleep Sunday night; at 8 in the morning, my lab woke me up; I looked out and saw the surge coming, had five minutes before it was inside. I grabbed my Bible, rosary, wallet, dog, and cigarettes. It chased us up to the second floor. Neighbors up there chopped a hole in the ceiling, then into the attic. The water was up to my chest. I tied an Igloo cooler to the dog. I had made my piece with God."
