Thomas Dworzak, Magnum photographer on assignment for U.S.News & World Report, was embedded with the 44th Medical Command, U.S. Army, and with the 50th Medical Company (Air Ambulance) preceding the Iraqi elections earlier this year. He spent time in field hospitals, where he witnessed the medical staff's grueling work and the flight medics' evacuation of wounded U.S. and Iraqi troops and civilians.
