It is early in the morning of August 9 when 4-year-old Makenna Franks and her parents, Bobby and Brandi, arrive at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston for her heart surgery. It will be performed by Charles Fraser (not pictured), chief of congenital heart surgery. Makenna was born with a condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome and has already had two surgeries on her damaged heart. This should be the last one.
