U.S.News & World Report examined the Monica Lewinsky affair and its effect on the Clinton presidency. "Amid all the swirling accusations, holding a sense of perspective isn't easy. The allegations immeditately created the sense of a presidency besieged—and perhaps unraveling. Yet Clinton has faced that sense before, and each time he has regainied his footing. Whenever he seems on top of the world, something knocks him off stride; whenever he seems flattened beyond recovery, he recovers. This new challenge could break that pattern or simply confirm him once again."
