In the Jan. 13, 1986, issue, U.S. News examines the modern-day millionaire. Seen here, Judi Sheppard Missett leads her Jazzercise class in a fast-paced aerobic workout. Missett launched her Jazzercise business in 1972 and by 1986 she had 3,000 franchised instructors and 350,000 students. Having made herself into a millionaire, Missett still believes in comfortable living and a down-to-earth mind-set. "I'd like to leave my children with the idea that dreams can come true but that you first must be imaginative enough to dream dreams," says Missett. "Then, you need patience, perseverance and guts to work your derrière off and make it happen."
