Examining ethanol

“Gauging the Gas Alternatives” [usnews.com, April 25] was a great article but is slanted toward ethanol fuel, E85. It appears that either the industry has not done a very good job of differentiating between E10 and E85 or you just told half the story. The real story is that E10 is great for the environment, boosts octane, and gives us a step towards energy independence. I have been involved in the ethanol industry for 26 years, and I am very pleased that it is now getting its due.
