On to the polls

John Kerry has one quality that is important in a leader. He would never order his troops to do something that he himself would not do. John Kerry has served honorably in combat which gives him a very unique perspective for a commander-in-chief to have in this time of great peril for our troops and our country. George Bush however, is lacking that perspective. George Bush served honorably in a time of war but never experienced combat. George Bush has had four years and a Republican majority in Congress to get the job done and despite his best efforts, the nation and the world are not safer. President Bush is lacking the experience in combat, domestic and foreign policy and there is no reason to believe that he will do anything different over the next four years than he has done over the last four years. If Bush is anything, it is consistent and resolved to stay on the same course. Results do matter. John Kerry will inherit a very divided nation but I have no doubt that his wisdom, experience, intelligence and resolve will begin to produce tangible results very quickly, the key to uniting our country and encouraging old and new allies to join us.
