Arthritis Treatment Alternatives

Thanks for the cover story "Agony in the Bones" [June 27] on treating arthritis. By creating awareness, more funds can be raised to find a cure for this horrible disease. I am a screenwriter who has been battling rheumatoid arthritis for 14 years. Diagnosed at the age of 34, I was stunned that someone my age could get this disease. When I learned that thousands of children in the country were afflicted as well, I was even more surprised. Now the inflammation is attacking the soft tissue in my eyes, and I am fighting to save my vision. Many people have no idea how insidious arthritis can be.
