| Mission | |
| School mission | Wooster is a liberal arts college nationally recognized for an innovative curriculum that emphasizes independent learning. Each Wooster senior creates an original research project, written work, performance or exhibit of artwork, supported one-on-one by a faculty mentor. This yearlong independent study project or I.S. as it is known to students, faculty and a half-century's worth of alumni is the cornerstone of a Wooster education, and the culmination of a four-year journey to intellectual independence. I.S. fosters creativity, resourcefulness, critical thinking, and communication skills. And it does so for every Wooster student, not just those in an honors program. |
