| Mission | |
| School mission | Concordia University, Nebraska is a place where you can find your heart's calling and be equipped to answer it. Here, the foundation of our Christian Lutheran university is evident in the professor who cares about the whole student, the community who gathers for worship together and the roommates who support each other in successes and challenges. It is impossible to walk across campus and not be greeted; it is impossible to simply get lost in the crowd. And while those professors do care, they are also demanding and have developed rigorous programs that will effectively ready you for your calling and prepare you to lead with your heart. The variety of programs lets you arrive at Concordia willing to explore a bit and settle on a course of study that you are passionate about pursuing. An overwhelming majority of our graduates find employment immediately after graduation. Since we started as a teacher's college that might not be surprising for our education majors, but the same is true with our business, science, pre-professional and health graduates. Now, someone might think that an education of this quality in such a supportive atmosphere is a financial impossibility. Between scholarships, grants, aid from individual organizations and churches and loans, 98 percent of Concordia students are supported throughout their education. And those scholarships are not just available for outstanding athletes or brilliant academics, but artists, musicians and actors, too. Of course, maybe you are an athlete and you want to play. Not a problem. Our 18 intercollegiate teams form tight-knit communities to compete (and win!) all over the country. Our GPAC conference is tough, and those worthy opponents will prepare you for regional and national competition as well. Concordia is also a place where that teammate on the track team may also be an award-winner for their graphic design work or a volleyball player may also solo on the national choir tour. And both of them might be on the Student Activities Council, work on the newspaper or be part of Students In Free Enterprise. Opportunities abound as you follow your heart to Concordia University, Nebraska. |
