| School mission | Grambling State University was founded in 1901 as a private industrial school to educate African-American citizens of north central Louisiana. Now a constituent institution in the University of Louisiana System, Grambling State University offers undergraduate, graduate, professional and continuing education programs. These programs are designed to meet the educational needs of a global clientele.
