Background
Surviving Katrina is an inspiring and gripping human drama. Produced from a ‘credible insider’ perspective, it focuses on some of the everyday heroes who struggled with the unimaginable hardships of being involved in one of America’s worst weather catastrophes. Through an in-depth telling of these stories, along with in-the-moment information that explores the science of the catastrophic storm, the failed engineering of the levees and the actions of local and national leadership during and after Katrina made land fall, the viewer will have a better understanding of how this tragic event unfolded.
