Resource Generation (www.resourcegeneration.org). Founded nine years ago by two young heiresses, this New York-based organization sets up dinners as a way for wealthy young people to meet one another and hosts workshops on prioritizing philanthropic goals.

21/64 (www.2164.net). A division of the Andrea and Charles Bronfman Philanthropies, 21/64 is named after two generations it helps: 21-year-olds inheriting family wealth and 64-year-olds considering their legacies. In addition to designing educational exercises and providing consulting services to wealthy families and foundations, the nonprofit runs Grand Street, a network for young people with wealth.

The Society of Young Philanthropists (www.philanthropysociety.org). Launched by a group of wealthy young Los Angeles residents, this society raises money for causes through galas, poker nights, and "philanthroshop" events.

Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (www.epip.org). A group of 20-somethings working for various foundations created EPIP in 2001 after feeling their generation lacked a voice in the philanthropy world.
