Looking for a safe, solid used car for your teenager? Start with our list, culled from data provided by Kelley Blue Book. We have eliminated small cars (not safe enough in crashes) and SUVs (prone to roll over). And we've included only models that get at least 20 mpg in city driving. The list is sorted according to frontal crash test ratings, with the best performers at the top.

Notes: Prices and mileage figures are for the least expensive trim line of each model. For some vehicles, crash test ratings are derived from tests of the same model in different years, but only when the model was unchanged from year to year.
