John McCain is denying a New York Times report this morning that said he had a romantic relationship with a female telecommunications lobbyist. The likely GOP presidential nominee called the woman in question a friend. "I'm very disappointed in the article," McCain said, standing alongside wife Cindy at a press conference to address the allegations. "It's not true."
The New York Times has endorsed Hillary Clinton and John McCain for the presidential nominations of the Democratic and Republican parties, respectively. The editorial board writes that Clinton, compared with Barack Obama, her main rival, "is more qualified, right now, to be president," and that McCain "is the only Republican who promises to end the George Bush style of governing from and on behalf of a small, angry fringe."
Its recent story on wiretapping powers really rankled the House speaker.
