Louis René Beres

Louis René Beres, Professor of Political Science and International Law at Purdue University, is the author of many core books and articles on nuclear strategy and nuclear war, including several very early works on nuclear terrorism. Educated at Princeton (Ph.D., 1971), his writings have appeared in Special Warfare and Parameters, publications of the U.S. Department of Defense, and also in more than fifty major academic journals. Most recently, these pieces have been published in the Harvard National Security Journal; the Brown Journal of World Affairs; the Israel Journal of Foreign Affairs; the International Journal of Intelligence and Counterintelligence; Herzliya Conference Policy Papers (Israel); and Oxford University Press. In Israel, Professor Beres was Chair of Project Daniel (2003). He is a frequent contributor to U.S. News & World Report.
