take vitamins? only if I can't have access to a well balanced diet

I personally think vitamins and supplements should be avoided unless you have don't have access to a well balanced diet. We can and should get what we need from what God has provided for us on the Earth. Don't mess with nature, it's a recurring theme, you mess with nature, and you mess stuff up. When are we going to wake up and stop trying to improve on nature? God already gave us everything we need.

High Dosage of B-12 can destroy cancer cells!

B-12 is 4.3% COBALT, The higher the Dosage, the higher the Cobalt, which is a heavy metal. The trouble with Medical Research, they just haven't used a high enough dosage, and also how they have administered the Vitamin.

I find B-12 Very effective for the Flu & Cold, the cobalt destroys the viruses on contact. If you go to www.popsci.com/node/22953 you will find the formula and full information on the subject, Nasal B-12

comment on vitamins

1. The body manages levels of hormones, electrolytes, and an enormous variety of molecules with great precision. Why are we shocked to find out that the whole premise of taking large quantities of substances (relative to that found physiologically) may or may not be good.

2. A lot of the basis for vitamin usage is based in the science of deficiency, derived decades ago, and essentially non-existent today in the American population. Why do we presume that taking more of a substance is good if there is not a demonstrable deficiency.

3. I have long worried that taking vitamins might nourish a deranged cell that otherwise might not have survived...and cause a cancer. Why is this theory less likely than the idea of taking vitamins improves health (among the non-deficient)?

What the latest studies prove

That people are studying. When researchers find something--anything by approaching a study with arbitrary guidelines they draw their own conclusions.

Several expert researchers may look at the same finding and draw separate conclusions.

Finding ways to test those conclusions takea a lot of time.

Therefore, only time will tell if the conclusions are correct, partly correct or not correct at all.

Thinking Harder

This blog is the public workshop of U.S. News writer and editor Ben Harder. In articles published in the magazine, he has covered a range of sciences, including medicine, human behavior, prehistory, and evolution. Here, he can explore those and other scientific fields more fully and more informally than is possible in print. He'll share whatever seems noteworthy or potentially useful, and he invites readers to do the same.

WTOP Audio
On Feb. 24, 2008, Ben discussed the link between artificial light and cancer on WTOP radio. Listen to the interview at WTOP News. He again talked about light pollution on WTOP on March 22, exploring its environmental effects.
