Two words, "Ancient Aliens".

=======================================================

We were amazed at how chimpanzees used sticks to harvest termites, or that they ate meat. We are amazed at some of the stonework found in South America. How did these people get that 8000lb rock from that mountain over there to this mountain, and to get it to fit perfectly ? We even wonder if we could do it today.

Our ancestors were clever enough to make it through all sorts of geological and astronomical catastrophies and to keep the gene pool going. They produced us.

It seems that historically we have underestimated the abilities of our ancestors. I would suspect that the range of this group of our ancestors exceeded 6 kilometers. If you are bipedal and can stand upright it would not take very long to realize that with one 'person' at each end that you could lift an object that was heavier than you could carry by your self. I can picture in my mind an ancestor trying to move something heavy and signalling for help to move a rock or tree limb. Cooperation would have put one group at a competitive advantage over another. How much longer would it take to make a crude basket of some sort to carry stones ?

Big cats cooperate, as do dogs and elephants. If half a million years represents 30,000 plus generations, I have a hunch that we would be amazed at what our ancestors accomplished. One day we will find that perfect place for preservation of organic fossils and learn more.
