To the comment of Mar 03, 2010 18:04:41 PM: Homosexual behavior has been part of the behavior of humans and other animals since long before the advent of man-made estrogenic compounds. And if you're referring to those found naturally, then homosexual behavior is in fact a default facet of the natural world.

Other species, such as salmon, exhibit similar sex reversal. Everyone is afraid to say it because it is politically incorrect, but exposure to estrogenic and other compounds during fetal development, prepubescent life, and perhaps even lifetime exposures is a plausible explanation for homosexual behavior in humans.

that explains why there is a rise in feminized male humans too. and why men are wanting to become woman ,cause there is a lack of testosterone. and doesnt lavender enhance estrogen levels also... what s this world coming to , cant eat or drink anything...yikes

Here is an excerpt from the article: "but also apparently sent out come-hither signals to the bro’s in their tank." Since "bro" was made plural, it should be "bros". There is no need for the possessive "bro's", unless it refers to the "bro's back sides", for example. I first read it thinking that a word was missing. It is an interesting article. However, we need to be very careful in making direct connections to human biology.

I wonder if this experiment will lead to another discovory in the future, maybe the will find a way to transfor all of there findings into one substance that will change men into females...or close to it. i kno frogs are diffrent than humans but these days anything can happen.

There is probably no doubt that some of the population is consuming atrazine-laced water, among myriad other contaminants that the EPA has deemed okay (sadly). This chemical could point to cancers and disorders among people, but moreover I think this is all a testament to the amazing resiliency of the human body. How we are able to survive and continue to produce offspring with relative health is just remarkable.

there was a research conducted a few years back that said the testosterone levels in US males has dropped by a significant amount..this research probably explains why.

I wonder if that chemical is in anyway related to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which many women in the rural area I live in have, including me. After I moved to an area heavily farmed, I began having dark, bristly facial and body hair develop, and I'd never had this before. I know women all over have PCOS, but I would dearly love to find out if there is a blood test that can detect this chemical in people!

This makes me wonder 3 things
first being, Is this something that more naturaly accures than we think? Due to the need to servive? I'm sure the water etc. made it happen. but "what if" this happens in the wild as well?weather presented with the atrazine or not? IF the frogs thought "ok, there is only 40 of us left... WHO is going to Take one for the Team?"(not to sound funny,I know they dont talk,Just didn't quite know how eles to say that) So 4 of them change into well...girls. For the better of the species. sevival of the most flexabul...
And 2, IF this widely used herbicide is doing this to frogs is it doing it to ppl? It said in the artical at about 3 or 4yrs is when this seems to happen,Right? Most Gay Men I know started relizing they were diffrent around the time they were 4-7yrs old. Not to be Nieve and think that is the only way "GAY" happens. (Sorry, for lack of a better turm,to prove the point)I belive like the frogs, It is a natrual prosses ,in most cases, for humans as well, no matter what causes it, if anything.
AND last. A Rise in estrogen in females is related to "female" Cancers.... OK everyone out there who has tryed to find the LINK between herbicides AND Cancer FOR years....GO! Here is your proff and your information...NOW run with it! Incress in estrogen = Cancer what precent of the time???
Just my thoughts , my questions... I am not a expert on anything but Weddings and Flowers LOL! But if these points were so obvious to me, I think they should be addressed.
