This article is very confusing. First it says that losing both Diser1 genes is better than having only one of them and then it states: "losing DICER1 or other parts of the manufacturing machinery could be disastrous for healthy cells". So if Diser1 is needed for healthy cells to survive, how could they even test the scenario where Dicer1 genes are missing? The good news is that your cancer cells have stopped growing, the bad news is that all your healthy cells are dead too.
