Increased Tree Deaths Linked to Higher Temps

cudos to all those fine statements before me, increased temperatures would increased growth in trees not promote death, nice try Gore fans but come up with more accurate data before making way out statements like that.

Is caused by the bark beetle. Drought reduces the amount of sap a tree produces and it doesn't have enough of the gooey stuff to drown the beetles.

Furthermore, it should be obvious that modern practices of "environmentally sensitive" forest management such as, spending billions of dollars fighting forest fires, and preventing logging, and thinning of forests and "undergrowth" that there is less water and sunlight available available for trees. More dead, dry brush and trees result in bigger fires - Oh no! More CO2!

By the way, most forest dwelling animals prefer more open forests - means more forage at ground level. It's people who like to gaze at a dense forest - not animals. Just FYI.

How do you think different species of flora and fauna are created? Variations in the environment are what causes species to change to meet the new conditions. Survival of the fittest! This has been going on for billions of years; long before the sciolist, Al Gore showed up on the scene.

When I read the headline, "Increased Tree Deaths Linked to High Temps", I couldn't help but read this story. Of course, the real story is the sixth paragraph where it states that, "that data is too sparse & inconsistent to be able to say for sure that global warming is killing forests".

Coming off a summer with the coolest temperatures in 70 years makes me a true skeptic of the global warming frenzy and this headline, at the very least, is untrue and misleading.

Yeah, yeah... I've seen dead evergreens too. And they're not the result of any "Warming." It's INSECT INFESTATIONS. Next thing you know, these half-wits will be blaming dutch elm disease and oak wilt on Global warming, too.

Wake up and smell the printer's ink. On second thought, don't. It's giving you hallucinations.

Didn't you guys get the news? Global warming is a fraud and the temperature data from which all the reports, dire warnings and Al Gore's fortunes are based was cooked to make it support the political viewpoint.

There are many reasons that trees die and without years of honest temperature data, you are just guessing. In our area we have had several years of record cold and dry and have lost many trees too.
