Once upon a time, there was another wood preservative. It was effective and compared to CCA was relatively safe. But it was produced by a politically incorrect company. This was during the days following Viet Nam and we remembered Agent Orange and Dioxin. The government declared pentachlorophenol (Penta) unsafe for wood preservative. They gave us CCA in its place. Oh, the wisdom of our politically-driven central planners!

What to do now? Obviously, it is not the fault of our government. It was not the Corps of Engineers, nor Dick Cheny's KBR that made this decision. The only solution is to sue the stuffings out of the producers of CCA.

That will make all our little ones safe.
