We want to be part of this project! We have a staff interpreter group of 37 medical interpreters at University of Washington Medical Center, covering about 15 languages. We have been preparing for the eventual substitution of machine-based for human-based interpretation mentally, but would like to help make the product as excellent as possible. Our group is known for piloting innovative techniques, processes, and technologies in medical interpretation. We had the first three pilots of video remote interpreting in the Pacific Northwest, as well as other projects that are bearing fruit now, such as creating simple discharge teaching films for patients and giving them the $1.50 CD to take home...
