Hurricane's, floods and the "Dust Bowl" were triggered by "natural events". That doesn't mean they're not a big catastrophy or that you ignore their causes.

The article failed to state the current source of water. With that amount of water the sources must be rivers and underground springs but they were not mentioned. Why not?

I always question the way conclusions are presented as fact in an article like this. Just keep in mind none of us were there to see it happen.

I actually think the article gives credence to the fact that climate change, hot and cold, are natural occurences and ocillations on the earth and is not a threat at all, rather nature being nature.

It is nice to see an article about the history of the Great Lakes and the Niagara region. Not only does climate change threaten the lakes, but also a legacy of industrial pollution and invasive species that travel in ballast water. The lakes represent 90 percent of this nation's surface fresh water and more than 40 million people rely on them for their drinking water. It is time that the nation as a whole started to work to save and protect this awesome resource.
