How long are we going to keep complaining about Bush. So he didn't have the best ideas about what to do with NASA. He's not an astronaut and he was estimating on how things would be years after he wasn't in office. He said what he needed to, to keep the funding going. None of our administration are scientist. Which, I should add, is a shame because our country was founded by true scholars and it is going to take a scholar to work out this mess, not a politician. Where is a Madison when you really need one?
Anyway, I totally agree with everyone else. We might, in time, find that reaching mars is a turning point in all of history. And, we should do everything we can to do it first.In truth compared to monies we just blew it's not even a large expense.

It fits his M.O.-he will do everything in his power to keep the United States on the sidelines while the Chinese & Russians catch up .Because we've got more pressing matters such as making sure that even more people get loans to homes they will never be able to pay off...
