Clearly, we must do more to stem the tide of global climate change. Unfortunately, Waxman-Markey has turned into a totally ineffective boondoggle. Congress needs to turn its attention to what leading scientists and economists have been advocating since the beginning: a revenue-neutral carbon tax. A carbon tax would avoid the evasion and market manipulation inherent to cap and trade, incentivize green R&D and return the revenue to families already struggling under the weight of the current economic downturn. It's a win for the environment, a win for the economy and a win for the American family.

In the golden days of journalism, which has gone extinct, we had journalists actually pepper their stories with relevant facts from scientists instead of 100% grant-seeking opinion points.
Possibly, the next time you could ask this scientist some pertinent questions, and, OMG, the answers could actually be included in your article. Questions such as:
1. How many rain forest lizard species have gone officially extinct in your specific area of research over last 20 years?
2. How do you know they have gone extinct?
3. In the tropical rain forests you have studied, how much warmer have they become over the last 20 years? How much drier?
4. In the tropical rain forests you have studied, how much has the human population grown? How much has commercial development grown?
Instead of letting grant-seeking, whining scientists speculate doom freely, how about asking questions and requiring answers that will help explain the problem and put it in context. It's not that hard to get the facts.
If you need facts about species extinction, we actually have postings with real facts about the subject.

Isn't this just evolution doing its thing? If the only product can be better, more evolved species, then why are we trying so hard to fight 'climate change'? Seems to me we ought to be watching this with eager anticipation...
