Unusual Worms Alarm Some in North Alabama

Seems odd that it is recommended to "leave it alone" if you find one. I would think you would want to remove as many as you possibly could to help keep the numbers down... They may not be a big problem right now, but someday we will all say "I wish we had done more to prevent them from taking over".

I would grab them (with gloves if necessary) and place them in a jar with a cover and set it in the sun to cook. Possibly not the best or nicest way to kill it but better than leaving them to breed and make matters worse.

Live outside of the New Orleans area and found one today. Hence the reason why I'm on this site. I have never seen something like this in my science books when I was growing up.

Very intersting worm, these hammerheads! I got interersted in finding out more since I recently came across one while walking near a manmade stream and pond in Riverside, Southern California. I have seen all kinds and normally pay attention to their differences, but found this hammerhead too exotic to be indigenous to this part of the world. So, just for reporting purposes, there is at least one in this area and you know what they say! Were you find one, there is bound to be more.
