Would we not be able to add predictable results in crop by cloning like the Ha-us Avocado crops in California. Pick the best tree in all of India and clone that Bugger.

TO TAKE THE ABOVE MENTION , OF THE INTERSTATE HWY. SYSTEM....ONE SHOULD ALSO THINK OF THE RAILROAD RIGHT OF WAYS , AND THE MANY MILES OF RAIL LINES WE HAVE IN THE U.S. AND THE 1000'S OF ACRES THE RAILROADS CONTROL.

I am a scientist, engineer and environmentalist who has been tracking the Jatropha tree potential for several years now and am still amazed at the resistance to the adaptation of it as
a practicle alternative to edible oils.
Not only is it a option for farm co-operatives, whom may be fighting the seed and fertilizer companies, as well as the oil companies, but it can be grown in land that would typically not
be usable for other crops. It can be grown in semi-arid regions, but also can be useful in reclaiming desert or other barren land. It can survive at near freezing temperatures.
The government could be doing more to encourage pilot program
to demonstrate it viability

Couldn't it be grown on the endless acreage of the Interstate systems medians and shoulders? Lease agreements for harvesting similar to Logging rights etc. Could be sold to 'oil' companies.
