Earth Day: 5 Simple Things You Can Do To Go Green

The Sierra Club of British Columbia composed 10 "green tips" for responsible living. The David Suzuki Foundation similarly offered their 10 tips for greener living. Then BC environmentalist Guy Dauncey wrote a book called "101 Solutions to Global Warming". Grand total, 121 ideas on how to save the planet by changing our behaviour. Why? Because these soft-green environmentalists argue that climate change is the result of "human activity."

But guess what? Not ONE tip of these list of 121 commandments advised anyone to practice birth control. No one was told to change their behaviour in the bedroom, or to have a vascetomy or a tubal ligation. And when a couple in Abbotsford, BC gave birth to their 18th child, they had nothing to say about it. Apparently, for the green crusaders, there are no humans involved in human activity. Maybe the 20 metric tonnes per capita of C02 is annually emitted by chimpanzees, gremlins or ghosts in North America.

A condom is the most cost-effective green technology on the market. Five times more cost effective on average than the alternatives. It not only prevents more C02 emissions, but just as critically, more habitat loss from human encroachment. As WWF founder Sir Peter Scott once remarked, "If we had it to do over again, it would have been better to spend our funds on condoms rather than park protection"--or words to that effect.

To me a "green" parent is like a vegan carnivore or a virgin mother. Love kids? Try adoption. The planet will love you for it. A child doesn't have to share your genes to share your love.

When you think of the Earth what comes to your mind?

I think of.....

WATER,LIVING,GREEN,PLANTS,AND EVEN ME!I wonder what you think of and i'm only 9.

Stop wasting!Stop littering1Stop forcing the Earth to do things it is not made for.

God made this Earth for you and I to live on.

And if you don't respect that than you hate God!

He's bringing you the things that you need to survive so take that and don't dis-respect the mighty, strong, and helpless Earth.

This entire save the planet crap is getting old.

I refuse to recycle, I drive a SUV, I leave my lights on, I high water pressure fixtures, and I water my yard twice a day every day

Save the planet - save mother earth - stop progress

What a bunch of brain washed clueless sheep!

Donya, thank you for sharing about :To Go Green" minute tonight. I was not aware. I'm going to tell everyone I know at work! Could you imagine how much power that is going to save? I hope someone can come up with some kind of stats afterwards, it will be very interesting.

My daughter and I are trying to always think of ways we can cutback. We recently bought the 3 stainless steel water containers to use instead of buying plastic. They keep very cold, and we feel better that we aren't buying tons of plastic bottles. Recycling them is wonderful, but then I heard about how many toxins are sent into the air when the bottles are broke down to reuse, sigh....

thanks everybody for the great tips! Happy Earth Day! :)
