Actually it's sad that MIT like so much of academia has become kind of a navel-gazing joke, and these professors are a prime example of the decline in creativity and real-world awareness. Those of us a little closer to farming know exactly where robotics can be well employed and already are much closer to market with the technology then these institutions of "higher learning". You can count on it.
