After Richard Nixon was elected to the House of Representatives, he, his wife and his daughter, Pat and Tricia Nixon moved to Washington on June 9, 1946. In this photo, the Nixons are shown posing near the Jefferson Memorial.
President Dwight Eisenhower and Vice President Richard Nixon pose in a handshake at the windup of a birthday party for Nixon in Washington on Jan. 10, 1961. The party was given by congressional Republicans for the retiring vice president on his 48th birthday. The handshake followed presentation by Eisenhower of a silver bowl which Nixon is holding in his left hand.
