The Cost of President Obama's Keystone XL Dithering

Hanging a few environmentalists might bring sanity to the rest or it might not but at least it would make these traitorous fanatics less numerous.

Obama and his extreme left wing agenda continue to inflict terrible damage to our economy. Tens of thousands of very high paying industry jobs for average working Americans were killed with Obama's decision on the Keystone pipeline. Tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of secondary jobs. And Obama's decision will cause our closest ally in the world, Canada, make a deal with the Chinese. Obama is the most arrogant, extreme left wing, Elitiest to ever sit in the White House. If he gets 4 more years our nation will never recover from the damage Obama is inflicting!

Being from Nebraska, I believe that I have more credibility than J W Hobie from Virginia. Nebraska is in favor of the pipeline--it makes good sense economically for us. There are numerous pipelines across the same land which are presently in operation without any environmental problems. The problem is environmentalist hypocrites (for they want and use energy as well) are using out state for a battleground. We take good care of the land and our people--that is why our unemployment is 4.5% or less and why we annually run a surplus in our budget unlike the liberals and the environmentalists.

Oh noes! Mort's mad! Hey Mort, maybe you didn't notice... I mean, you being rich and brilliant and all... but we in the US already have plenty of access to this oil. So, who, exactly, is this pipeline extension to a US port supposed to benefit? And what's wrong with being wary of the environmental costs of oil extraction? (Sorry... you mad that I don't take a billionaire's word at face value?) Maybe you should drive something more fuel efficient than a limo... and sell off one of your private jets.

If the Canadians want to sell oil to Asians... let 'em. They can screw up the enviroment at one of their own ports. Then maybe we'll get serious about kicking our addiction to foreign oil.

Obama is crazy and a threat to jobs in this country with his 'let's see how much money we can spend to pad my ego'. In fact, he is destroying this country by kicking the can violently down the road. Violently in the sense of over spending $5.2 trillion in just 4 years of fool hardish spending to pad his ego.

wowlfie of CO 12:48PM February 19, 2012

You morons blame Obama when Nebraska's own (R) governor and his rich rancher friends are against the routing of the new pipeline section. They now sit quietly while Obama takes all the heat from you ignorant goobers.

J W Hobie of VA 11:10AM February 19, 2012

It is the goal of the progressives to shut America down by whatever means. The O'bama Gang now makes no effort to match what they do with what they say. They don't care anymor e and have a what-you-gonna-do-about-it attitude! If he acts like this while campaigning, just imagine what will happen if he wins a second term!

ounceoflogic of OH 8:48AM February 19, 2012

The very idea that we become oil self sufficient is scary. Let us give more power to the Middle East. This will come back to bite, with gas prices at $5 a gallon this summer.

Mary Maroney of GA 8:46AM February 19, 2012

So, tell me why our the price at the gas pumps are soaring again?

I recall when Bush was president, everyone blamed him for the high gas prices, but those same people are surely not blaming Obama for this spike!

It must STILL be Bush's fault, right???

What a very large crock!

Sarah R. of DE 9:50AM February 18, 2012

Where do these job numbers come from? I've heard 5000-10000 temporary construction jobs. Surely, there will jobs along the pipeline to truck in food, etc but nothing like 10 or 20 times the number of jobs that are working to build it.

And manufacturing jobs? Where? The pipe will be made in Russia and India.

And finally permanent jobs: Almost none. It takes very few people to run a pipeline: dozens perhaps
