Obama's Anti-Business Policies Are Our Economic Katrina

Mr. Zuckerman- You're the business genius while I'm a total nobody. Yet it was very clear to me that Obama strongly favored a collectivist, Government Control of Everything approach back in early 2008. Yet you shilled for him when you knew better.

We either step away from this socialism, collectivism, Obamanomics or whatever you want to call it or we will soon be doomed. Obama and his supporters are dismantling our economy and way of life right before our eyes--and he has 45% of the population fully with him. You better keep writing and talking!

This pres is exactly as he has been depicted, intelligent yet void of wisdom, experience, or skill. His fix to everything is to commission a panel to study and present recommendations. Imagine, “When we pass the bill, then we’ll get to see what’s in it”, can you believe it? As you can see, that is how the fed operates, therefore nothing gets fixed or completed just studied and made more complex, while the money flows out the treasury and gets wasted. The oil disaster is a prime example of his and the fed's incompetence. He thinks and acts like an arrogant college student. Unlike the rest of us who attended, then produced things in life, he has never grown up or out of the school setting. Hell, half the Harvard faculty is running this country as Obama czars and appointees on some committee. In his attempt to redistribute wealth, the undeserving who have never worked or produced will share in all the benefits and whatever humble wealth others of us have earned and achieved. Those who have truly suffered misfortune and are in need will have to share what is meant for them with the lazy leaches. The ones who have chosen the life style of living off of handouts that are meant for the needy. They steal from what should be a large safety net for those in real need, but they are never weeded out; just included as if they were also dealt misfortune, but in reality they are misfits robbing the resources of the needy. But in this socialist administration who cares? Just throw them all in together so that our reign over the masses becomes larger and make them become more dependent. He, (the Obama mamma guy) promised the world and has put his hand into the pocket of every producing person, so that according to his almighty wisdom, he can do a better job at redistributing wealth and life itself. He's dangerous for our nation and its culture of self sufficiency that still provides safety nets for those truly in need. He is always on the opposite side of the national majority on every major issue. His cabinet and appointees are the people who have been rewarded for campaign work, not people fit to their task. He is pathetic and an embarrassment as a commander in chief. I hope he doesn't end up wasting the lives that have been risked (mine included) and the blood that has been shed to make this country great, by changing it into his social experiment. God save us! Please let us laugh him off his throne in 2012.

Mort supported and voted for Obama, as did I. And both of us are disappointed in the president. I agree that the stimulus was poorly designed - dozens of billions are spent on the very expensive and rather speculative projects that may never become profitable or viable (electric batteries, etc.) instead of providing incentives for business to invest in the areas they deep important (i.e., driven my the market demand). The health care overhaul was good idea in general, but the implementation seems very troublesome with a variety of new taxes that will hit many middle class people in the next few years, and where lots of people will be pushed onto Medicaid - the program that is already in trouble, the one that many doctors don't accept because of the low reimbursement rates, and which is already bleeding the state budgets. And the issue of anti-business is not a right-wing attack. It is a real problem with this administration. Obama kept saying that Wall Street caused the crisis which is at best, partially true. Fannie and Freddie that basically backed akmost 50% of all mortgages in the US and lack of effective regulation (most of which does not require any new laws), the fact that mortgage interest is deductible unlike in Canada and many othe countries, etc. were certainly huge factors in the real estate collapse. Simply blaming the "greedy" Wall Street bakers is both wrong and not factually correct. It scores you some points with those who don't really understand how the financial markets work. And when you demonize the whole sector that is so critical to the employment growth in the country you are doing the real damage to the very fragile economic recovery. And I do believe that Obama administration can benefit from having at least a couple of people in the White House who have the real-world business experience. Valerie Jarett is clearly an empty suit. It's time for Obama to reconsider his unnecessary and indiscriminate attack on the big business as if small business is more moral. We need any business, and any investment. We should strive for less regulation, not more. We should strive to attract the capital and investment from all over the world.

I subscribed to US News & World Report thinking I would receive unbiased reporting. How wrong could I be. Please Mort, do us all a favor and go home and stay there. You have been blind sided by your pile of money. Did you ever hear of the Resetting of America. You just don't get it and to date your best effort has been to polarize and negate.

I've tried to cancel my subscription but to date can't get any one's attention protecting their turf.

Business sure demonizes Obama. Basically, deep pocketed pirates will pay more in taxes. That's the original sin. The rest is noise to cover up the self-interest. Ain't nothing more boring than rich guys whining about their taxes.

Panskeptic of MT 10:46PM July 16, 2010

keep the pressure up. Democrats losing control of the house or senate may be the one thing that saves them from themselves and save their president from being a one-term phenomenon. Democrats in control of all political 3 branches has proven to be a disaster in this modern flat earth time, where we no longer enjoy attracting capital as we once were when compared to communist, capital unfriendly countries. Now the communists are superior capitalists (ie China) than we are.

This from a avid Democrat who helped write one of Obama's speechs.

Obama is the most anti-business President in History and is ruining our great country. Get him out asap.
