Try answering one of my questions..

Hunter of WI 7:06PM March 23, 2010

Well, you bought into two of the Republican talking points.

Rationing of care

Not being able to see a doctor in time.

Neither of these items used to instill fear are true and if you are worried about your costs going way up to cover your taxes then you are in the upper percentile of wage earners (above 250K annually) so I don't feel so sorry for you.

I am also pretty sure if you are in this tax bracket you probably never voted for Obama anyway so you don't want his agenda either....let's be honest shall we?

Chuck of CA 7:38PM March 22, 2010

The phrase regarding the certainty of two things in life....death & taxes" now takes on new meaning. The question is, how will death come.....does it come because you can't get in to see a doctor, as care will be rationed or will it come from working yourself to death to pay for the huge tax bill you'll be forced to pay?

Mr. Zuckerman,

You should have scrutinized this man's credentials before throwing accolades on him before his election. This is a total disaster to our republic, and now that you have buyer's remorse you are critiquing his agenda. To little too late thank you

A few questions I'm putting out here.

1)What does the goverment do in or below budget, even close to?

2)Why should we trust them with healthcare reform?

3)What in history gives us faith?

As an aside, how's crow going to taste when this plan goes bankrupt, overbudget and we lose jobs?

If by a miracle it works, you were right.Enough gov.spending anything will work for a while.

Please someone give me some or an example of gov.successes.Even the first half of the new census is 25% over budget!!

Hunter of WI 6:00PM March 20, 2010

Mr. Zuckerman, may I remind you that you backed Obama without knowing who and what he is. He was brought up on the mothers milk of socialism, he tought Saul Alinsky and his mentors were members of the Communist and Socialist parties. As a newsman, you should have done your homework! Shame on you! Now, your crying foul, give me a brake. You gave a party for Arlin Spector at your house in the Hamptons, a republican turncoat, how did that turn out??? You made your billions thanks to capitilism, now your boy Obama is doing everything in his power

to destroy everything that makes this country great. You were so hard up to elect a democrat that you closed your mind to the truth. Well, you owe this country, speak the truth, admit your mistake and use your paper to expose the truth. By the way, how do you feel about Obamas policies toward Israel. It sickens me!

Waterloo was the word spoken......No is the romance word of McConnel....."we are only 40 strong....so we must not agree to anything....We can change the dynamic if we stick together.....just one Republican vote will show bi-partisan support, and we will lose the American sympathy"...."We have to stick together....the public will only agree If we stay together".....

This is not what the founding Fathers had in mind.....Elections should have meaning....the loyal opposition were not elected to obstruct every attempt to govern....This is the first time in history for a party to do this....and it has created a divided America.....The party has credibility now, but it is gambling big time on the health care issue....The next election in November will be more about the curious reaction from the voters as they wonder where are the bad events that were promised us IF the healthcare bill passes?

The GOP will be the big loser.....American public cannot be fooled over and over.....

It is called America's Rosanna Roseanndanna moment...

I agree. There shouldn't be a ton of additional program built in which the government can run our lives. They don't do a good job, no doubt. But I think there are certain things they can do better if they wish. For example, government has been short-changing education for a very long time. Again I realize that states mainly run their own educational systems, but government also has a hand in this. The fact that a student has to graduate from high school and worry about going to college and pay for an education which will result in a $80,000 loan is a big problem. The problem is that students are graduating with a BA or BS degree and a massive debt without a great job market. So this automatically puts a strain on people's ability to spend and revive an economy.

The Social Security system is going into the toilet. And I know many republicans have said go invest money into stocks and mutual funds and 401K, which as we recently saw, have some major risks. I had a lot of co-workers that left their money in the 401K market and their savings for the last 10 years were completely wiped out or atleast nearly all wiped out during the last crash. On top of that, 401K does not even provide a whole lot of money at retirement. Atleast not enough to live off. So people are working into their late 60s and even 70s in order to have money to live. The majority of the American people also don't possess the financial saavy in order to play the stock market and make money. If they did with the minimal amount of education they have about the stock market, we would have a major disaster. It would be the Great Depression all over.

My issue with the current government (by current I mean from the Reagan years all the way to the present) is that THEY DO HAVE THE MONEY. No one is questioning about why we are spending billions upon billions upon billion of dollars in the National Defense (or what I can Offense) sector. No one is questionning all the crazy techy equipment we pay for, all those expensive Lockheed and JPL contracts, all those loans we are picking up from the Chinese to finance more war abroad. And all for what? For oil lands so that Exxon/Mobile's profit will jump another 300%? So that Cheney's Halliburton will be in business and make a ton of money for him? So that the Bush family will be able to attain a ton more money in oil profts?Nearly 60% of our tax money goes into military ventures and the defense (offense) sector. Do we really need to fight these conflicts abroad or can we spend some of this money, even let's say an extra 10% of it, in order to provide for the education system and Social Security? I think we can. That's my issue. The money is there even though we are told it's not. It's just that with Iraq, Afghan, and later Pakistan and Iran (which are soon to come) the government looks for excuses to spend in these areas and education/SS. Students/retired with extra money can get this economy going again... Believe me

I don't think no longer needed said, thanks.I will say I'm glad for Keerys' light wind.

My main concern is the bigger goverment gets, more control, more programs, ect.,the more we the people and taxpayers lose, wheather it be freedoms or money we work for. They can not spend our money better than we can.At least they haven't shown they can.

I really like getting your take and opions,

Hunter of WI 8:48PM March 17, 2010

Hunter, I think just as you and I do, when Americans come together and actually discuss things versus saying this is how Democrats do things or this is how Republicans do things, we will find out we have many many ideas in common. Totally agree with drilling here, but I think oil companies are more interested in taking what's out there for now and using that all up before they heavily drill here. The Middle East for the past 50 years has been a chess match for oil... And the US is playing the game well at a high cost though.

Also agree totally with you that Bush had the Dems going... I think there's one thing that the Dems are that the Reps aren't, and that's being woosies... Dems are weak. They're afraid of pushing the envelop. And again, that has to do with the fact that they are also taking on interest money from lobbyists just as the Reps are. It's just that the Dems are a little more torn between taking money and making decisions the other way. If I was Kerry in the past election I would've torn Bush a new hole... Kerry was so super soft in that election. A wind could've pushed him over.

Props in CA, not really working all the time. Sometimes there are good results, sometimes there aren't. But it's nice to have the vote of the people mean something sometimes.

I only wish the Reps and Dems in Congress could agree on points just as you and I do... Because at this time, with the way our society is crumbling and our economy is in the sewers, we need a little agreement...
