Obama is Fumbling a Chance for Middle East Peace

I made Aliyah almost five years ago and have been living in Sderot for a year-and-a-half.

Being here has changed me. Made me intolerant of the pontifications by "experts" who seem to be suffering from severe cognitive dissonance.

I couldn't finish reading Mortimer's article. His is the kind of dissembling by Jewish Establishment apologists that has, since 1993, brought us closer and closer to the brink.

He and they (the J-Street crowd)view Israel with a bemused multicultural detachment and apparent ignorance of International Law that differs from the mythomania of the PLO and its many Muslim Brotherhood subcultures only in that Mortimer and Company don't openly call for the destruction of the Jewish State.

Theirs is the passive-aggressive kind of activism that accomplishes the same goal: making Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem Judenrein. There is no other word to describe what they propose.

The issue isn't Iran. The issue is Jewish sovereignty in the land ceded to us by the 1922 Partition. That Partition established the Jewish Homeland from the Jordan to the Mediterranean. But to read Mortimer and his Judenrat Street friends, one would never know about this.

Attorney Howard Grief long ago provided all the legal arguments necessary for asserting our rights to Israel. What keeps Mortimer from insisting on enforcement of our legal rights? What compels him to adopt views that facilitate the destruction of Israel?

Howard Grief's concise explanation of our legal rights is found here:

Rather than embrace US, EU, UN, Saudi plans to de-Judaize Israel, we should be doing the opposite.

The royal family of Jordan are recent transplants from Arabia after the Husseini family lost the battle with the Sauds. Jordan was part of the Palestine Mandate and 80% of its residents are "Palestinian".

Obama's Middle East Policy is clear:

1.Do Nothing. Wait for Iran to acquire Nuclear Weapons

2.Israel will cease to exist as Iran fulfills it's commitment to destroy The Zionist Entity

3.So Called Palestinians can move back into the territories where they never lived (As Yasser Arafat stated in an NPR Special, several years ago as they filmed him crossing illegally into Israel: I am Inventing a New People. They will be called Palestinians).

4.Then Obama may reach the conclusion that partial “economic sanctions” against Iran, may not have worked as well as his administration had planned, and feel bad that we now can celebrate a the Anniversary of a Second Holocaust

that how we pulling back and let Iraqis kill each other soon we have another Iraq revolution like Iran revolution like way back have an group of enemy emerging from this chaos world to finished our weak allies back by little help or no help at all by the USA. We don't have enought forces to shut them down, hopefully they don't turn to become terrorist since they keep blown each other up someday it reach more than 100 kills per day, Bush call that mission accomplish and Obama say that time to withdraw, but look again their government isn't strong enought to be on their feet, our forces their not enought to keep the peaces mission only small enought even not to provide fire power cover for the US embasy their, beside that Obama say we win the war in Afganistan, couple day ago some guys in the military put up post show that most our tax pay money go to help Afgany was wasted because they only recruited guy that doing drugs have been kickout from the village, and Afgan military reward their family members work in the armforces instead of base on their soldiers bravery in the battle field this is pathetic, wild our enemy have better will to fight our allies Afgani government troop is high on grass the cause them lag of ability to perform in battle, most of them likely to go awal if they were send to the frontline. Is there a stronger leader in Afgani that is better to rule to make Afgan, because i know that some result in Afgan was tainted with corruption, maybe Kazai just cheated other opponent to win the president election like that guy in Iran, too late for that now since the result was in, there is no democracy in using power to cheating against the people vote to win the election ya know. I see alot of star in middle east support democrat party, and now aday u got Obama Hussien Obama, i think it a sign of doom to Israel dream of having own a peace of their land in the middle east, If Jew and Arab were smart they wouldn't still lived in the desert ya see

To end this conflict, a total separation of the two peoples is needed. Shared land in the West Bank will not work. Therefore, to move foward with a Palestinian State, the settlements must stop. The settlements should never have been built. Why do the people of Israel not get this?

I've spent about an hour a day online for the last two years and I can state that the vast majority of anti-semitism in America comes from the Left (the occasional silly comment from fringe christians and Ann Coulter nonwithstanding). IMO it started during the Cold War. The Left in the US was pro-soviet and anti-american, and therefore took sides against america's allies...which included Israel, and sided with america's opponents which included the pro-soviet arab/muslim bloc. Anti-zionism (really anti-semitism) is now embedded in the american Left.

And the voting behavior of american jews? Jews have been primarily Democrat since the New Deal, and their support for the Democrat's positions on economic and social issues trump the fringe anti-semitism of the radical Left.

The reader's comment about Jewish support for Obama is true, if not entirely fair. Podheritz recently wrote on this subject and noted that Jews have been one of the most reliable voting blocs for Democrats since the New Deal. They average over 75% in support of Democrats during elections!! As a devout Christian(Catholic), I personally can attest to the deep affection evangelical Christians have towards Jews and Israel. I've also experienced tremendous anti-semitic rants from self described Democrats and Liberals. The love affair between Jews and the Democratic Party didn't make sense to me,at first.Over time, I've come to realize that for most American Jews, the Democratic Party is thier religion. The Reformed congregation(where most Jews attend and identify ) is a secular, liberal ideology masking as Jewish religion and accounts for their blind devotion to a Party...even against their best interests. It is(in a wierd way) a kind of fundamentalism. I can only hope that over time they will understand that the U.S. that took them in and provided them with support and refuge, is slowly being destoyed by the ideology they support and with it the Nation of Israel.

If they don't care about Israel, why should I?
