Mashek is confident of his prediction because he believes that the Left controls much of academia. Therefore, they can write the "correct" version of history. This is like the old Soviet Encyclopedia in which a person's place in history could change in an instant. History instead will view this generation of Liberal Fascists as the usurpers of truth. Pure malevolence like this hasn't existed since the "glory days" of Goebbels.

Hernan M. Martinez of CA 11:38AM January 07, 2009

Mashek says he will not read Bush's memoirs because they will be full of spin. Ha! The spin is the incredible hatred the Democrats and their puppets in the media have dumped on President Bush and the American people these past eight years.

The atrocities of 9/11 were the direct result of the Clinton administration ignoring the entire series of attacks on America through the 1990s. They started with the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 and ending with the attacks of 9/11, 2001.

The Bush tax rate reductions stimulated the economy after Clinton's recession and 9/11 attacks, resulted in record tax revenues, and the highest earners paying a larger portion of taxes than before.

The current financial crisis is the direct result of Democrat driven meddling in markets with legislation like the Community Reinvestment Act. The liberals used regulations, government coercion, to force lenders to make mortgage loans to "underprivileged" borrowers. We know how that turned out and now Obama and the same bunch of crooks including Schumer, Frank, and Dodd, want to do more of the same sort of meddling.

The bottom line is that people like Mashek, the Democrats, and the rest of the Bush-hating media cabal have lied to the American people these past eight years to gain political power, increase the scope of government, and make more people dependent on their handouts.

It has worked like a charm...lemmings.

A culture that defines its very raison d'etre by endless accumulation of material possessions; by the unbounded acquisition of more money, money, money, money; by recklessly overconsuming and relentlessly hoarding limited resources, demonstrably declares to all the world that greed is good.

Are we not members of a culture that worships consumerism? Are the products of greed nothing more or less than the objects of our idolatry?

Are the pin-striped suits, fleet of cars, chauffeur, private jets, McMansions, distant hideaways, secret handshakes and exclusive clubs...... all signatures of success in a culture borne of the 'goodness' of greed?

Consider for a moment what greed has wrought.

Ultimately the Bush Administration's failure, which history will certainly underscore, is the failure to fight the right battles. Bush et. al. used cold war style power play political thinking and tactics to "lead" a country backwards when the rest of the world was rushing forwards. 8 years hence we are second tier in education, standard of living, we have more poor on our own soil both in real population and % than we did when Bush started, we have lost the respect of the rest of the world, and are "leading" the world into economic meltdown. And Mike of TX wants to give credit for "no significant... attack." Mike is utterly missing the point, as did Bush, as did McCain, and the Republicans/Conservatives in general. Obama, more or less, seems to get the point. China has become the world's manufacturer. India and other nations have taking the reins of innovation. Europe has at least somewhat unified into an economic force overstepping the U.S., and adopting humane rules of living that make ours look arcane. We didn't lose 8 years with Bush, we lost a generation. The bad old days of biggest bully with the most bombs wins just doesn't cut it in the 21st century. Christian v Jew v Muslim v Black v White v Asian v Democrat v Republican is the old thinking that didn't work. A unified view of the our resources and our place in the world is the only approach that can undo the Bush administration's blundering.

That's right, Mike, there hasn't been a terrorist attack on American soil since 9-11-01. However, THERE WAS A SIGNIFICANT TERRORIST ON AMERICAN SOIL ON 9-11-01. Lets try to remember that, and which administration was in power then - and thus responsible for monitoring and responding to terrorist threats.

Does there need to be another terrorist attack on American soil? How many American soldiers die every single day in Afghanistan and Iraq? How many died on 9-11, and how many soldiers have been killed in Iraq? Now Al Quaeda doesn't even need to come here to kill Americans, b/c Bin Laden lured the Bush administration into sending thousands of American soldiers to their deaths in Iraq. Way to fall into the trap, Mr. President.

The mess left by the Bush cheney adminstration

has made President-elect Obama's job even harder

for an incoming leader. Bush failed eight years

ago and the nation must hope Pnama will do better.

WS of MD 10:19AM November 13, 2008

Say what you will of President Bush but there has not been a significant terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11. I believe President Bush's aggressive foreign policy has intimidated our enemies and kept our citizens safe. Who would want to attack a country whose leader has proven himself unafraid to commit troops to fight and die and to topple governments of our enemies.

Pray that President Obama is a credible threat to our ever present enemies or you may find that your worries about the economy or your job are not as important as you think they are.
