Iran's Sly Games in Iraq

Fouad Ajami implies that America has acted in the hope of a "less lethal middle east."

Excuse me !

Are we to forget that several internationally famous organization among them the prestigious international institute for strategic studies of England warned of the

bloodshed to come if US invades Iraq ? United States invaded Iraq knowing that

the result would be more bloodshed. Barely 2 years into the Bush's catastrophic presidency, Israel attacked the Palestinian territories and flattened the Jenin refugee camps with complete and full support of US. In 2006, again with full support of Fouad Ajami's friends at high places, Israel invaded and attacked Lebanon killing more than 1000 Lebanese citizens most of them civilian some

while taking refuge in shelters or fleeing from the war.

If this is the less lethal middle east, US is hoping for, God saves us from the more lethal one.

If US is allowed to aid and abet, the very much lethal government of Israel,

then any country, including Iran, should be allowed to help the people of middle east, including Palestinians and Lebanese defend themselves against the juggernaut of combined Israel and US war apparatus.

Dear Dr. Ajami:

You are absoulutley correct. on Iran. Excellent article. The poor people of Iran, Iraq and Lebanon are the hostages of this Islamo-fascist regime. Iranian people need some help from the Western countries to overthrow this fascist regime. They will welcome (with open arms) any help from the U.S. and Europe.

I am an Iranian myself. We have been under 30 years of opression, torture, stoneing, poverty, decapitation by this Islamo-fascist regime. And we sit on the third largest oil and gas reserves in the World. Is there a God? If so, can he hear us. In God we trust.

The leaders of the fascist regime are sending all our oil money to Banks in England, Canada and Swiss in their personal accounts, and to support terrorist groups such as Hezbollah, Mehdi Army, Quods Army and other militia groups that are killing the innocent people in Iraq, Lebanon, Iran and Israel.

Hitler was not a Christian. He believed in the old Germanic pagan gods. He despised Christianity because he said it made people too weak to carry out what was necessary for the German people to do IE his own ruthless orders to conquer and murder.

IMAGINE THE SHAPE OF THE CRESCENT HAD WE NOT INVADED. Professor, while most "desk pilots" were making observations from afar, my friends and I were bringing unfiltered information about the growing Persian presence in Iraq.

If not mistaken, with its large youthful population, which is not mindlessly buying into the idea of "Iran as the seat of the caliphate," Iran will run out of oil in the next few years.

Under the pretense of "keeping your enemies closest", the Persians may experience some short-term gains in Iraq, who they know well. However, their presence has never lasted and never will.

Iran worked hard through its supported Chalabi to encourage foolishness by an american Goverment willing to use foreign intervention to gain domestic political advantge (remenber a Republican Majority for the rest of the century!) though a "short victorius war". We the people let the US be used and put in a no win situation that was totally to Iran's advantage. If we get out Iran will be forced to take sides in the Shiite civil war that's brewing - its only continued presnce that gives them manuver room. Iran's had a great ride in Iraq through our efforts but I think when it's forced to take sides that advantage will dissapear.

When Professor Ajami sounds a warning, we had best act upon it.

That Iranian interests have stepped-up their efforts to decay and subvert southern Iraq is a fact that cannot be ignored any longer: greater-Iran should be reduced to lesser-Iran promptly (operationally confined to an area less than that described by its existing borders).

The United States and concerned regional governments need to act inside of Iran in every way possible; that is, the infrastructure of Iran must be disrupted, even as its supply lines are cut. Concurrently, the nuclear assets of Iran must be diminished ruthlessly, while its principal suppliers, particularly the North Koreans, must be dealt with in the manner prescribed by Mr. Bolton.

Iran has been at war with the United States since the time of President Carter. Will the time of President Bush pass with out a response in kind?
