For the 'contracts' being mentioned...google Grover Norquist.

Congress people don't get paid when they are out of office. They have to serve a minimum of one term to be vested in the retirement plan. But, they don't continue to draw their salary.

Congress does not vote itself a pay raise, it votes all Federal employees one

Also, the claim about their retirement is bogus. They have the same retirement system as all Federal employees.

You know very well that the "no pay" quip means that they get no pension and that the "void contract" quip means that the current agreement with Congress should be voided and a new one put in place. But the innocent "I don't understand this" act is cute. Eye roll.

AJSG of MI 11:37AM November 21, 2012

Ms. Milligan is being purposely obtuse here.

1 - The 'no pay' quip is about not getting paid for being a congressperson while THEY ARE NOT.

4 - They DO vote about the pay raise stipulation every year. The fact that they made it an automatic provision which requires a majority to defeat it every year is telling in and of itself.

There are many more points to address here but my time is short. Check it out for yourself people. Don't go by the word of the author of this article whom appears to be a congressional apologist.

I do not believe this article. There is a balance of truth always, but no doubt, something radical has to happen. It doesn't matter if the author is correct, change to the reform act anyway.

So what can we do now? I'm willing to help. I believe in this with all my heart. I've have been saying some of these things all year!

Jolene Hurd of MN 8:32PM November 18, 2012

You are not thinking this through very far. Yes there is re-election which is great, however the only option that gives me is to vote the other party in order to get rid of someone. Term limits are much more sensible. I will not debate the entire article, but I do my own research, I know the truth and this is not the truth.
